How will the relocation of the Royal Children’s Hospital’s south-west mental health service benefit locals in Tarneit and Hoppers Crossing? The Royal Children’s Hospital’s south-west infant, child and family mental health and wellbeing service has been relocated to Penrose Promenade Community Centre in Tarneit. The relocation returns the service to its catchment and provides more space to deliver specialist mental health support for infants, children and families closer to where they live. To support the relocation, the Carroll Labor government provided $2.2 million for the community mental health expansion program. The move includes clinical accommodation to support the continued delivery and future growth of specialist infant and child mental health services in a more accessible community setting. The new location includes eight consulting rooms, one speech pathology assessment room, one paediatric consultation room, two large consulting and observation rooms and 38 workstations to accommodate current staff and future service growth. This service will strengthen local infant, child and family health services in my electorate.
