John MULLAHY (Glen Waverley) (10:40): As this parliamentary term draws to a close, I thank the people of the Glen Waverley district for the privilege of representing them over the past four years. I thank our volunteers, our community groups, our sporting clubs, our schools and our local businesses. I want to thank my wonderful electorate staff Rachel, Dustin, Atharva, Finn and Yujie who have worked tirelessly for our community. I would also like to thank the whip staff Aidan and Laura for their guidance and support. Together we have secured upgrades for local schools. We have invested in sporting facilities and open space and seen construction begin on the Suburban Rail Loop at Glen Waverley. Many families from multicultural communities make Glen Waverley their home because they want a great education for their children. As the son of migrants, I understand that hope. I will always back those families, celebrate what they bring to our community and stand with them against division. There is more to do. I want to keep improving our schools, deliver better transport and community facilities and make sure that every family feels they belong here. I will keep fighting for the future of the Glen Waverley district families for what they deserve.
