 Jess WILSON (Kew – Leader of the Opposition) (14:10): My question is to the Premier. If integrity is no longer optional, will the Premier guarantee that his government will not rely on public interest immunity to withhold documents required by the royal commission into corruption on the Big Build?

 Ben CARROLL (Niddrie – Premier) (14:10): A royal commission is the most independent inquisitorial inquiry Victoria can have, and it will be up to the royal commissioner to set all the rules.

 Jess WILSON (Kew – Leader of the Opposition) (14:11): If the Premier has no intention of using public interest immunity to withhold documents from the royal commission, why didn’t he support amendments that would have allowed it to access these documents?

 Ben CARROLL (Niddrie – Premier) (14:11): The royal commission has commenced its inquiries today and held its first public hearings. It is clear that it will be examining every single issue and nothing is off limits.

Danny O’Brien: On a point of order, Speaker, on the question of relevance, the question was very specifically about the actions of the government, not the royal commission, and I ask you to bring the Premier back to answering it.
