Glen Waverley electorate
John MULLAHY (Glen Waverley) (14:30): (1771) My question is to the Minister for Public Transport. How will the Carroll Labor government continue to deliver the best possible outcome for the Suburban Rail Loop while ensuring value for money? In Glen Waverley we are seeing the SRL take shape, and we know it will transform how people move around Melbourne’s east. The SRL will connect our community with Melbourne’s east, giving local families, students and workers easier access to jobs, education, health services and opportunities. Together with Melbourne Airport rail it will also make travelling to the airport easier, strengthening the connections our diverse community has with loved ones and business partners overseas. But there is a clear choice at the next election. Labor is getting on with delivering this transformational project. Those opposite have promised to pause and review it, creating disruption, uncertainty and the risk of leaving our community with unfinished works. Glen Waverley deserves certainty, not the opposition’s delays, disruptions and short-sighted cuts.
