Chris COUZENS (Geelong) (13:19): Every year for 91 years the creative arts committee of the Country Women’s Association of Victoria has held the State Creative Arts Exhibition, and this year it was held in Geelong at the Geelong West town hall. I was delighted to be invited to the official opening on Friday and to also attend the afternoon tea. It was a great opportunity to meet the state president Ms Marie Vassallo and other Victorian CWA members from across Victoria. Many of the CWA members and their friends and family came to Geelong for the two days of the exhibition, enjoying the hospitality of our beautiful city, including Pakington Street. The many items on exhibit showed the extraordinary talent of CWA members and included embroidery, knitting, crochet, patchwork, quilting, art, photography, preserves, cookery, toys, dolls and many other handmade crafts.
