Drouin traffic management
Wayne FARNHAM (Narracan) (13:11): I want to talk today about the congestion in my local town of Drouin. It is no secret that I have brought this up time and time again in this chamber. I have sat down with the Treasurer and virtually pleaded with her to have infrastructure investment into Drouin to ease the congestion in the town. So I was very pleased last week when the Leader of the Nationals came to my electorate and we announced that we are going to build the Weebar Road roundabout with the significant investment of $3 million, something I have been asking the government to do for the last three years. Thankfully the people of Drouin will get this infrastructure, which they deserve, but it is disappointing that the government could not invest in this town. It would have unlocked 2000 house lots if the government had done this sooner – 8 per cent of what they need to do in Baw Baw shire.
