Adjournment
Werribee electorate community
John LISTER (Werribee) (13:17): Over the parliamentary break I have been out and about listening to my community. In addition to knocking on hundreds of doors across Mambourin, Werribee, Wyndham Vale and Manor Lakes, I held a series of fireside chats in community centres to hear directly from constituents. Topics varied from bus services to police response, from hospital care to infrastructure. What came out of these discussions is that people are seeing investment on the ground across my electorate but they want to make sure it is making an impact. What these chats demonstrate is that our community is looking to work together on solutions. They do not want to be divided by those who want to use our challenges for political pointscoring. In the past these conversations have achieved results, from new bus routes in Riverwalk and King’s Leigh to a new high school in Wyndham Vale. Thank you to all those people for coming along and to the dozens of residents who submitted their questions online.
