State election
Jade BENHAM (Mildura) (13:15): What an extraordinary day in Victoria. I am not sure how I did it, but I put out a media release on the Consumer Legislation Amendment Bill 2026, which is on the program this week, and the entire Labor Party imploded. So you are welcome, Victoria. It is an extraordinary day, but let us be honest. Just changing the face does not change the problems that Victoria faces. After another unelected 2IC – we see how well Dan’s 2IC has worked out – it is the same corrupt Labor government that Victorians are sick of. What we need is a fresh start. We had an opportunity – we might still have an opportunity – for an early election, although I do not think they even know what is going on on their side. But what we need is a fresh start, and the Liberals and the Nationals are the only ones that are committed to a fresh start come November and to giving regional Victorians their fair share. That fair share includes the upgrades that Mildura has been calling on for so long now and that the Labor government have failed to deliver: $180 million in upgrades that will actually fix the problems with patient flows. We are the only ones that will deliver for regional Victorians.
