John MULLAHY (Glen Waverley) (14:29): (1809) My question is to the Minister for Public Transport. How is the Labor government continuing to make public transport more accessible, affordable and convenient for the Glen Waverley district? Reliable public transport is essential for my local community, helping people to get to work, school and appointments and around our suburbs. We are making public transport more affordable with free travel for under-18s, half-price fares locked in until the end of the year and free weekend travel for eligible concession card holders. We are also making public transport more convenient, with simple tap-and-go ticketing now available across trains, trams and buses. The Metro Tunnel is also making it quicker for people in Melbourne’s east to get to the city, universities and hospitals. And with the Suburban Rail Loop progressing, we are investing in the future of our public transport network. I look forward to the minister’s response.
