Brad BATTIN (Berwick) (09:45): I rise on behalf of my constituents in Clyde North, and obviously over the border in Clyde, who for years have been promised a new railway line and railway station by the Labor Party – since 1999. That promise has never been delivered, and the community continue to ask why. They are joining others in the community who are talking about the lack of road infrastructure, the potholes through the area and the neglect when it comes to phone reception. One thing they have noted is that the new candidates in the area are coming out and saying about all of these things, ‘We like to have no excuses; we are all about action,’ and then they give excuses of why they have not or cannot deliver. The Victorian community and the Clyde North community particularly are sick and tired of that coming from Labor, who promise one thing before an election and fail to deliver it after. Clyde North police station, Clyde rail, Thompsons Road, Narre Warren-Cranbourne Road – the list goes on and on, and people down there are sick and tired of it.
