Country Fire Authority Montrose and Chirnside Park brigades
Bridget VALLENCE (Evelyn) (15:24): Our CFA firefighters across district 13 are tremendous. I wish to pay tribute to three members of Montrose CFA fire brigade and Chirnside Park CFA fire brigade for their exceptional longstanding service to our community and Victoria as volunteer firefighters. Congratulations, Robert Earney, on an exceptional and inspirational 55 years of dedicated service as a firefighter at Montrose CFA fire brigade.
Rob is a former captain of Montrose CFA and has served on the brigade management team and as Knox group officer, all while running a small business in Montrose. Rob has the community at the heart of everything that he does and has helped mentor new members and develop a strong culture at the brigade. Congratulations, Peter Carew, on an amazing 45 years of dedicated service as a CFA firefighter. At Montrose fire brigade Peter has held numerous BMT roles and also served as Knox group officer. Peter was recognised for his service during the 2009 Victorian bushfires and the 2019–20 bushfire emergency with the National Emergency Medal and is always prepared to respond to emergencies. Congratulations, Jeff Forrest, of Chirnside Park CFA fire brigade on an exceptional 50 years of service to the CFA. Jeff was a founding member of the Chirnside Park fire brigade 11 years ago, is a former brigade captain and is a wonderful asset to the brigade and our local community. Jeff is still part of the BMT today and a life member of the CFA. Thanks, Rob, Peter and Jeff, for your exceptional service to the CFA and to your families for their wonderful support.
