Constituency questions

Sandringham electorate

Brad ROWSWELL (Sandringham) (14:28): (1738) My constituency question is to the Minister for Health. When will the Labor government invest in the new MRI machine that our Sandringham Hospital is already licensed for so that locals have access to MRI services in our community? Our Sandringham Hospital, back in 2025, was granted a Medicare-eligible MRI licence by the federal government. This was great news for our community. An MRI machine at the Sandringham Hospital would make life easier for locals and enable them to access quality health care within our community. But the state Labor government has not funded the MRI machine itself. The hospital has the licence to enable it to provide bulk-billed MRI services to community members – yet no machine. Not one of the government’s three health ministers in the past six months has been able to answer this question at all, and I ask the new minister to actually take real action and invest in the MRI machine that our hospital desperately needs.
