With a new station, new timetables and nine-carriage trains coming to the west, how much will capacity for passengers on the Tarneit and Wyndham Vale line increase by? There are a lot of exciting transport projects happening in Tarneit. On 13 September this year the brand new West Tarneit station will be opening, which will support 689 services, increase passenger capacity and decrease pressure on the line. From 23 August new timetables for parts of the rail network will deliver 415 additional weekly services and new connections. The Wyndham Vale line will also now have 10 extra dedicated trains with this new timetable. But we are not finished there: larger nine-car VLocity trains will run to Wyndham Vale each week during am and pm peak hours. This will increase capacity by 50 per cent and create space for more than 12,000 extra passengers. I am delighted that our community will soon have more access to the transport infrastructure it needs, and I am proud to be part of a government focused on investing in these projects in the west.
