Minister for Planning
James NEWBURY (Brighton) (14:13): My question is to the Premier. The Minister for Planning has admitted she failed to comply with the ministerial code of conduct when making a planning decision affecting development near her investment property in Hampton. How can the Premier claim integrity is no longer optional while the Minister for Planning remains in her job?
Ben CARROLL (Niddrie – Premier) (14:14): The minister has given her explanation and her answer. This minister is getting on and building homes, not blocking them.
James NEWBURY (Brighton) (14:14): Isn’t it the case that the Premier’s claim that integrity is no longer optional was nothing more than a cynical ruse, given a minister can admit to breaching the ministerial code of conduct and face no consequences under his leadership?
