Anakie Community House
Ella GEORGE (Lara) (19:18): (1156) My adjournment matter is for the Minister for Regional Development. The action that I seek from the minister is to visit Anakie Community House to see the progress that the Anakie & District Community Group have made towards the community garden since receiving a Tiny Towns grant last year.
In 2024 the Anakie and District Community Group were successful recipients of a round one Tiny Towns grant worth $19,800 to put towards upgrading the garden at their community house. Since receiving the grant, the committee members have been putting in hard work behind the scenes to get started on the physical work of the project. I have visited Anakie Community House many times, and I have seen just how much the local community values the use of a communal garden space and how significant it is to them. The community is also very thankful for being recipients of the fund, and it will be wonderful to have the minister visit Anakie Community House and see the important work that they have been doing on the project since receiving the grant, and I look forward to hosting the minister.
