Transport infrastructure
Josh BULL (Sunbury) (14:40): Futuristic, amazing and unbelievable – that is how some of the students from Killara Primary School yesterday described the brand new Parkville station. I was absolutely delighted to join the Premier, the Deputy Premier, the Treasurer and the fantastic member for Cranbourne alongside Rangebank Primary students from her electorate to see this incredible brand new station, one of five as part of the Metro Tunnel project. To be able to see the excitement on the faces of students as they had the opportunity to have a look at this world-class piece of public transport infrastructure was an absolute highlight, and that from 1 January next year, thanks to this Allan Labor government, those students will be able to travel on this system for free is something that is incredibly important and a wonderful initiative that has been announced within the budget.
As you know, providing world-class public transport, with the investment in infrastructure, the investment in rolling stock and staff and of course the announcement on both Saturday and Sunday that seniors will travel free on weekends and our young people under 18 will travel free all the way through, is only possible thanks to an Allan Labor government.
