Polwarth electorate
Richard RIORDAN (Polwarth) (12:48): (1132) My question too is for the Premier today. In the midst of one of the most crushing droughts in western Victoria’s history, in light of the new fire services levy, which will impose an enormous cost on every household, every business, every industrial site and every farm throughout western Victoria, will this Premier commit to cutting that tax and restoring the levy that was there before, as the Liberal–National parties would, as a sign of respect for fairness and as a sign of respect for good government, and manage the budget in a way that people in Victoria expect a responsible government to? Or will the Premier continue with this unfair tax that is going to hurt families and going to hurt all Victorians? Worst of all, it will be a hit to the cost of living of every farm, every family and every business in the seat of Polwarth.
