Lowan electorate
Emma KEALY (Lowan) (12:50): (1134) My question is to the Premier. Will the Premier commit to scrapping the tax and making the commitment made on the steps of Parliament today by the Liberals and the Nationals? I was moved by the contribution by John Bennett of Kaniva, who has been absolutely smashed with the Little Desert fires and the impact on his property and his farm from dingoes, which have been going unabated, attacking his stock, and now he has been hit hard with the emergency services tax that has been put on him and other farmers across the state by Premier Allan and her city-centric Labor government. Our local people are sick to death of having all of their hard-earned funds taken away from them during a cost-of-living crisis. The Allan Labor government must agree to scrap this tax, particularly during a cost-of-living and a cost-of-business crisis, and stop Victorians from paying the price.
