Mornington electorate

Chris CREWTHER (Mornington) (12:54): (1138) My question is to the Treasurer. After the massive protest today, will the Treasurer provide information on whether or not they will now axe the emergency services tax affecting farmers, CFA volunteers, renters and families in the Mornington electorate and across Victoria? Liberals and Nationals will scrap this tax; Labor must do the same. This tax will drive up rates for households across the Mornington Peninsula and Victoria, hitting renters and families already struggling; punish our farmers, many in drought, and our CFA brigades like in Mount Eliza, Mornington, Moorooduc, Mount Martha and Baxter, and the SES; and be a slap in the face for the Peninsula Victorian Farmers Federation and emergency services volunteers, who have expressed serious concerns about this tax. Labor is out of touch with rural, regional and outer suburban Victoria and indeed all Victorians. Liberals and Nationals will scrap this tax. Labor, please axe this tax.
