Adjournment

Marnebek School

Pauline RICHARDS

Marnebek School

Pauline RICHARDS (Cranbourne) (19:19): (830) My adjournment is to the Deputy Premier in his capacity as Minister for Education. The action I seek is that the minister update the house on the impact the refurbishment of Marnebek School will have on the Cranbourne community and the greater south-east of Melbourne. Marnebek is a terrific special development school in the centre of Cranbourne. When I called the principal at the time Jenny Hamilton to let her know about our decision to refurbish the school back in 2020 she cried, and now what a difference this has made to our community. They were allocated over $30 million and have upgraded the school with new state-of-the-art facilities: a two-storey learning neighbourhood and a new playground and basketball court at their Holland Drive campus, and at their Corrigans Road campus they have new double-storey neighbourhoods, a cafe and a STEM and arts space. I know acting principal Chris Murray is doing a fantastic job leading the school and assistant principals and campus heads Luke Bennett and Liam Mara are top-notch educators and are eager to demonstrate why this school is so important. I look forward to the minister providing these updates.
