Tarneit electorate
Dylan WIGHT (Tarneit) (14:45): (805) My question is to the Minister for Police and Minister for Crime Prevention. How will the recently announced funding for the Change It Up program impact my community of Tarneit? Programs like Change It Up are essential for not only helping individuals but also enhancing community safety. They provide our youth with the tools they need to make positive choices and to contribute constructively to our community. The youth crime prevention program funding is supporting fantastic programs like this to help kids keep safe and out of the justice system. I am particularly pleased to share that the Centre for Multicultural Youth has been granted $668,000 in funding for the Change It Up program in Wyndham. This funding builds on the crucial services being provided to young people who are at risk of offending or reoffending, offering them the opportunity to redirect their lives away from crime. I want to thank the minister for his continued commitment to addressing youth crime through prevention programs like this, and I look forward to his response.
