Rulings from the Chair
Constituency questions
The SPEAKER (14:51): I have reviewed the constituency questions from 29 August 2024. The member for Polwarth asked the minister to come and provide planning support, which is an action and is out of order. Further, the member asked two questions for his constituency question. Therefore I rule the member for Polwarth’s constituency question out of order.
The member for Brighton asked when the government will accept that something is happening and so sought an expression of opinion from the minister. Guidelines for questions from Rulings from the Chair, December 2023, page 143, state that questions should not seek opinions. Therefore I rule the member for Brighton’s question out of order.
