Michael O’BRIEN (Malvern) (13:06): I am calling out the Allan Labor government for breaking their promise and putting a new immunisation tax on local councils and ratepayers. In 2022 the state government established Central Immunisation Records Victoria, a statewide cloud-based immunisation management system. When CIRV was rolled out councils were guaranteed:
The program, eLearning modules, ongoing support and maintenance, and text messages will remain free of charge throughout the lifecycle of the platform.
But on 31 July this year Stonnington council received a letter from the Department of Health requiring it to pay a base fee of $6000 a year plus $2 for each immunisation. A clear broken promise, another new Labor tax, attacking councils immunising kids – could this government sink any lower?
