Coburg West Primary School

Anthony CIANFLONE (Pascoe Vale) (13:24): Recently I have also had the pleasure to welcome many grade 5s and grade 6s from Coburg West Primary School, my old primary school, here to Parliament House. Along with answering many of their curious questions about the functions of the Parliament and the chamber, it was also very humbling to talk to students about my journey from Reynard Street to Spring Street and how all students from Coburg West too can dream, strive and work hard to help make a contribution to our community through their life and career journeys.

On 4 September it was also a pleasure to visit Coburg West to celebrate their Italian culture day, a day full of fun-filled Italian heritage dress-ups, singing, speaking, performances, artworks and even a Ferrari display. Commendations to principal Mark Colagrande, Italian teachers Marie Peterson, Nadia Di Vicenzo and the entire school community for a beautiful celebration. I also spoke about the quattrocento dollari bonus per gli scuoli e studenti – the $400 school bonus.
