Monbulk electorate schools
Daniela DE MARTINO (Monbulk) (13:07): I recently had the pleasure of welcoming Premier Allan to the Monbulk electorate, where we visited two great schools undergoing significant building upgrades. Eastern Ranges School in Ferntree Gully is wrapping up its $5.7 million refurbishment project. The upgrades to the learn-to-play room, the senior wing and admin areas are ahead of schedule and will be complete in time for term 4. It is looking marvellous.
We then visited The Patch Primary School, where a fabulous $6.4 million modernisation project is taking shape. This project will transform the school by upgrading the main classroom wing, including the library, admin area and classrooms, and we are building a new learning hub with toilets and an art centre with additional facilities.
Whilst a good teacher can teach under a tree, our students thrive when they are in environments they can be proud of. Great teachers and students deserve world-class facilities. It was wonderful to have the Premier visit, and I look forward to welcoming her back to see these projects in their completed glory.
