 Renee HEATH (Eastern Victoria) (15:57): I rise to pay tribute to Peter Katsambanis as well. I did not know Peter, but it is clear he had a massive influence on many in this chamber, in the other place, in the Parliament on the other side of the country and the Hellenic community around the world. Peter packed so much into his life. Since his passing, I have heard so many stories of the type of man that he was: thoughtful, helpful, generous with advice and a fierce advocate for his beliefs. At his funeral last week there were representatives from this chamber from both sides, former ministers from both sides of politics, politicians from multiple parliaments and states and of course the 2023 premiership cup on loan from his beloved Magpies. If the mark of a man’s life is his friendships, then Peter was pure quality. However, as much as Peter obviously achieved in his life, he was also a loving family man, husband and father. When a member of my staff reached out to his son Ross to pass on his condolences, the response he received was:

He was so giving and loving, and we all miss him dearly. He was a great man, but to me he was just Dad.
