 Sonja TERPSTRA (North-Eastern Metropolitan) (15:54): Recently I had the absolute pleasure of visiting the wonderful staff, children and families at Croydon North Kindergarten in my electorate. Kindergarten is where our youngest Victorians build their confidence, make their very first friends and lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning, and to give our kids the best possible start in life we need top-tier, modern facilities that grow alongside our local communities. That is why I am thrilled to share that Croydon North Kindergarten is receiving a massive $4.5 million investment from the Carroll Labor government’s Building Blocks program. The substantial funding will deliver a brand new second kindergarten room, expanding local access so even more children can benefit from quality early childhood education close to home. Importantly, this project goes beyond early learning; it will also deliver dedicated, modern maternal and child health spaces right onsite as well. Having these essential services co-located under one roof means local parents can access vital health care, developmental checks and parenting support in a convenient and familiar location. The $4.5 million upgrade is a game changer for the families in Croydon North, and I want to thank the dedicated educators and staff at Croydon North Kindergarten for everything they do, and I look forward to seeing this exciting project delivered for the community in years to come.
