 Katherine COPSEY (Southern Metropolitan) (15:02): (2628) My constituency question is to the Minister for Disability. A constituent of mine who has worked on the Changing Places program for more than 15 years has raised concerns about the future of these essential facilities. Changing Places provides hoists and adult-sized change tables for people with high support needs who cannot use standard accessible toilets. The Changing Places website helps people locate these facilities, access technical guidance and participate more fully in our community. But since the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing stopped funding the website management of Changing Places more than two years ago, the website has been allowed to languish and is now badly out of date. The Access Consultants Association has proposed taking over the day-to-day management through a cost-recovery model requiring no government funding. The proposal has been with DFFH for nearly 12 months and is still apparently without a decision. Minister, will you act to facilitate the transfer of Changing Places to the ACA so this vital service can be properly maintained, allowing people with disabilities to access up-to-date services?
