 Lee TARLAMIS (South-Eastern Metropolitan) (15:40): It was a privilege to host the interfaith gathering at the Parliament of Victoria in the distinguished presence of Sadguru Shri Swatantra Deo Ji Maharaj, the presiding sadguru of Vihangam Yog, and Sant Naam Deo Ji from India. It brought together faith leaders, community representatives and distinguished guests from diverse backgrounds to celebrate the shared values of peace, compassion, mutual respect, unity and diversity. It was inspiring to witness meaningful conversations on the role of spirituality and faith in fostering social cohesion and interfaith harmony. A highlight was the blessing of the sadguru, whose teachings emphasise inner spiritual awakening, universal consciousness and peace beyond all boundaries. It was also wonderful to hear from Victorian Premier Ben Carroll, who spoke about the importance of interfaith harmony in building a stronger and more inclusive Victoria. His presence and message reinforced the important principle that Victoria’s strength comes from the contribution of people of different faiths, cultures and traditions and from our ability to come together with respect and understanding.

Visiting the Swarved Mahamandir Dham in Varanasi in India was a profound experience, revealing its remarkable service to humanity, and it deepened my appreciation of Vihangam Yog’s broader vision. Thanks to Sadguru Sadafal Deo Vihangam Yoga Sansthan Australia and Astralaya-Australia India Business and Cultural Council and everyone involved in making this important occasion possible. As members of Parliament we share the responsibility to help build a society in which every Victorian, regardless of faith, culture and background, feels respected, included and a true sense of belonging. Let us continue to celebrate our diversity, respect our differences and honour our shared humanity, and together let us continue building a more peaceful, compassionate and harmonious Victoria and a more peaceful world.
