 Georgie CROZIER (Southern Metropolitan) (15:12): (2638) My question is to the Premier. The JL Murphy Reserve in Port Melbourne is currently struggling to support six sporting teams and 80 players. The City of Port Phillip purchased the former Australia Post business centre site in 2023 for the development of much-needed sporting fields, and at the time there was a lot of discussion between the government, the former Premier and ministers with the local council. After outlaying almost $40 million, the City of Port Phillip council were expecting the state government to contribute the promised $57 million to develop the site. The government has now reneged on that commitment and confirmed that the funds will not be available until at least 2034 – well, you know, pigs can fly. What is left is a great big ugly concrete slab that nobody can use. So I ask the Premier: will you undertake to urgently meet with the mayor, as he has requested, and the CEO of Port Phillip to resolve this outstanding issue?
