 Melina BATH (Eastern Victoria) (15:07): (2633) My constituency question is for the Minister for Environment. The upgraded Lang Lang boat ramp and jetty reopened in March. The snapper and fishing season are starting, and users are very concerned about the safety, with its new flawed design. The structure is supposed to service five vehicles, but it only has two ladders and they are both at the jetty head. The design also creates bottlenecks, impedes boarding and disembarking and has a significant height differentiation between the boat and the jetty. Boaters are also concerned about the inadequate lighting in the case of launching and retrieval, and pedestrian safety. So we have got a new system, we have got a new piece of infrastructure that is not up to standard. It is not specified to the standard of Better Boating Victoria’s facility guidelines, so I ask the minister: why hasn’t this been done, and what is she going to do to make sure that this is up to standard and safe?
