Ovens Valley electorate

Tim McCURDY (Ovens Valley) (14:49): (328) My question is to the Minister for Water in the other place on behalf of Joseph Romeo of Harrietville. He seeks clarification on behalf of Harrietville Cricket Club. Harrietville Recreation Reserve is maintained by the cricket club, a club that has not played cricket since the beginning of COVID. They currently receive a Goulburn–Murray Water bill for $707 for the cricket ground. They receive a separate bill for the clubrooms. The clarification they seek is that they have not drawn a drop of water in over three years and keep getting a water bill, but continue to maintain the recreation ground as it is a common landing space for helicopters in emergency and bushfire times and for motor vehicle accidents up in the valley. They are seeking clarification regarding their obligation to continue to pay this exorbitant bill for no community benefit, apart from emergency relief.
