Hume indoor cricket centre
Iwan WALTERS (Greenvale) (13:06): I was delighted to join my friend and neighbour the Minister for Community Sport at the new $10.8 million Hume indoor cricket centre, which is under construction at the Greenvale Recreation Reserve, home of the Greenvale Kangaroos Cricket Club of course. I am delighted that the Allan government is working with Hume council to deliver this new world-class community cricket facility in Greenvale, featuring a six-lane indoor training space, new change rooms and enhanced opportunities for local cricketers. I acknowledge the strong support of Hume council and mayor Joseph Haweil for this great project and for the broader upgrades of Greenvale Recreation Reserve. I cannot wait until the indoor cricket facility opens ahead of the 2024–25 season, and good luck to Greenvale Kangaroos, whose premier cricket campaign kicks off this Saturday.
