Box Hill electorate

Paul HAMER (Box Hill) (14:46): (325) My constituency question is for the Deputy Premier in his capacity as Minister for Education. My question is: what is the update on the modernisation works at Laburnum Primary School in my electorate? As the minister will be aware, the Andrews–Allan Labor governments have committed more than $8.75 million towards major upgrades, which will deliver classroom upgrades and the performing arts building. These are exciting times for Laburnum Primary. Laburnum Primary fosters a wonderful, supportive culture where learning is valued and students achieve. For years they have done this with tired facilities that have constrained their growth and future plans, but that is changing. I would like to thank principal Dr Kim Dray, school council president Matt Hall and the committee, as well as all families, staff and students for their unity of vision to see this project progress into the design stages. I look forward to the minister’s response.
