Constituency questions
Gippsland East electorate
Tim BULL (Gippsland East) (14:41): (320) My constituency question is to the Minister for WorkSafe and the TAC, who I notice is here at the table. The information I seek is: when will the minister respond to representations made on behalf of Anthony York? In June 2020 Anthony was seriously injured when his car was hit from behind by a drugged and unlicensed driver in an unregistered vehicle. His vehicle was stationary at a traffic light at the time. I wrote to the minister on 13 December 2022, as Anthony was concerned about his lapsing support period, due to its expiry. In 11 months I have received no response. I followed up with reminder letters to the minister in April and May this year – again, Minister, no response. In June his TAC payments stopped. He has had no choice but to access his superannuation early because he cannot work due to the extent of his injuries. Victorians expect you, the minister responsible for the TAC, not to ignore them, and your lack of response in 10 months is shameful.
The SPEAKER: Order! Member for Gippsland East, through the Chair. The use of the word ‘you’ is not acceptable.
