Gary MAAS (Narre Warren South) (14:42): (321) My constituency question is for the Minister for Police and concerns the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation. Minister, how is the state government supporting the blue ribbon foundation to the benefit of my constituents in Narre Warren South? It was a pleasure to represent the Minister for Police at the recent Blue Ribbon Cup, which was held by the foundation at Narre Warren South P–12 College. The match included a mixture of students with young leaders from Melbourne City Football Club’s City in the Community taking on the Victoria Police team. The quality of the match was very high as the skilled youngsters took on the hardened police members at this event, which promotes unity, sportsmanship and community. The cup pays tribute to the work of our police members and those who have fallen in the line of duty, as recently reinforced by National Police Remembrance Day. The blue ribbon foundation continues to break down the barriers between police and our local youth, growing a mutual respect that builds a stronger and safer community. I look forward to sharing the minister’s response with my electorate.
