Adjournment
Eastern Victoria Region
Renee HEATH (Eastern Victoria) (12:55): (2668) Rochelle Halstead, Jess Wilson and the Liberals will invest $350 million into delivering stages 2 and 3 of the Wonthaggi Hospital redevelopment. This will add an additional 64 inpatient beds across the two new wards; a new birthing, labour and delivery complex; an outpatient clinic supporting services, including dialysis and chemo; refurbishing the allied health treatment; and completing the radiology precinct. This is because Labor promised this in 2022 and failed to deliver it, leaving a lot of people vulnerable. Here is a headline: ‘Two months out from the November 2022 state election, former Premier Daniel Andrews pulled off a masterstroke in the campaign for the highly marginal electorate of Bass that almost certainly won Labor the seat.’ Yet they did not deliver it. My question for the Minister for Health is: why didn’t you deliver on this promise?
Sitting suspended 12:56 pm until 2:02 pm.
Business interrupted pursuant to resolution of Council of 22 September.
