The PRESIDENT (09:34): I will be very brief, but given it is the last sitting day of our term I am sure you will all join me in our appreciation for all the Parliament staff, the good people at the Department of Parliamentary Services, our friends at the Legislative Assembly department and of course the Legislative Council department – our fantastic clerks, our fantastic attendants, our fantastic people in the papers office and so many others. They make us look good. I express my appreciation to the Deputy President Wendy and my appreciation to the Acting Presidents Gaelle, Jacinta, Michael, John and of course Jeff: I really appreciate your assistance. I show my appreciation of the cooperation and patience towards me in here, and so I show my appreciation to the leaders of the parties – thank you. I show my appreciation to the whips: thank you. Thinking of the cooperation of everyone in here, I reflected on Joe’s speech last night, and other than his amazing comedic timing – and seriously, Mr McCracken should think about going into television or something like that in the future – I think he expressed that there has to be a high level of cooperation right across this chamber, and that really reflects that everyone in here is dedicated to this institution and democracy. So I really want to show my appreciation. And that is it, so thanks very much.
