 Wendy LOVELL (Northern Victoria) (12:54): (2667) My question is for the Minister for Roads and Road Safety. Will the minister improve safety on Yan Yean Road during stage 2 works by installing more lighting? The Liberal candidate for Yan Yean Amanda Dow has been meeting with local residents and has heard concerns about safety on Yan Yean Road. During construction work for stage 2 of the road upgrade lanes are being closed, narrowed and realigned. There is a lack of lighting along the stretch of road near the Yarrambat Golf Club and Ironbark Road, and in the dark it is hard for drivers to see the new lane alignments and temporary line markings. The drastic reconfiguration of the road is catching out motorists, and there have been several accidents on the road in recent times. I urge the minister to install temporary lighting along Yan Yean Road to improve safety while stage 2 works continue.
