 Evan MULHOLLAND (Northern Metropolitan) (12:46): (2659) Gangland-style shootings, break and enters, car chases through suburban streets clipping every car in the street along the way, mafia and gang crime and hit-and-runs: it is not the next season of season of Underbelly, it is the electorate of Greenvale. Minister, my community in Greenvale are rightly shocked at the spiralling crime crisis that has happened under this government’s watch. This culminated in a gangland-style attempted execution on Galileo Place in Greenvale, where six shots were fired before a getaway driver sped off, with the wannabe hitman still at large. My community have a right to feel safe in their homes and businesses, but under this government it now seems like a new season of Underbelly is ready to be filmed, with a crime occurring every 23 minutes in the City of Hume. I ask the minister to restore the 24-hour status of Craigieburn police station and deploy police resources to keep my community safe.
