 John BERGER (Southern Metropolitan) (19:26): (2738) My adjournment matter is for the Minister for Economic Development in the other place. Since coming to government nearly a decade ago now, the Victorian government has overseen an economy that has grown by 41 per cent. This is a higher rate of economic growth than in any other state in the Commonwealth. This has happened because of this Labor government’s commitment to ensuring an environment that is open to and ready for economic development. This is more than just a number on a spreadsheet; it is real lives that have changed and gotten better since the end of 2014, and it is testament to the ongoing positive economic record that this government has. This level of economic development means that Victoria remains the engine room of the Australian economy. The action that I seek is for the minister to report back to me on how the Victorian government is continuing to promote more economic development in Victoria.
