 The ACTING PRESIDENT (Jacinta Ermacora) (14:29): I have received a message from the Legislative Assembly in respect of the Consumer Legislation Amendment Bill 2026:

The Legislative Assembly informs the Legislative Council that, in relation to ‘A Bill for an Act to amend the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012 in relation to forfeiture, seizure and debt collection, the Conveyancers Act 2006 in relation to the suspension of licences, the Domestic Building Contracts Act 1995 in relation to certain agreements to vary domestic building contracts, the Estate Agents Act 1980 in relation to the suspension of licences and the sale of residential properties, the Owners Corporations Act 2006 in relation to payment plans, proceedings and proxy voting, the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 in relation to persons subjected to family violence and personal violence, compensation, keys and security devices, bonds and Part 4A parks, the Retirement Villages Act 1986 in relation to the release of entry payments, the Sale of Land Act 1962 in relation to section 32 statements and deposit moneys and off-the-plan contracts, the Subdivision Act 1988 in relation to applications to VCAT, the Tobacco Act 1987 in relation to powers to close premises, powers and penalties for commercial landlords and the forfeiture and destruction of illicit tobacco, the Motor Car Traders Act 1986 in relation to the administration of the Motor Car Traders’ Guarantee Fund, warranty periods, licences, record keeping and the sale of used motor cars, the Building Act 1993 in relation to developer bonds, the Building Act 1993 in relation to prefabrication work and prefabrication builders, the Building Act 1993 in relation to complex plumbing work, the Building Act 1993 and the Building and Plumbing Administration and Enforcement Act 2026 in relation to minor matters, the Domestic Building Contracts Amendment Act 2025 in relation to its commencement, certain other Acts and for other purposes’ the amendments made by the Council have been agreed to.
