 Gayle TIERNEY (Western Victoria) (12:49): (2542) My constituency question is to the Minister for Government Services, who is sitting right next to me. The Labor government has so far provided cost-of-living relief to over 3.6 million Victorians through the 20 per cent rego rebate. Like cheaper public transport, the rego rebate provided real relief and has put money back into the pockets of so many households. The benefit to Victorian families from the rego rebate is substantial. A driver with one car can receive up to $186 back. A family with two cars could receive up to $372 back. This is real cost-of-living relief, and it was not backed by the opposition. My question to the minister is: how many applications have been made in Western Victoria, and what was the total value of rebates in the region of Western Victoria?
