 Ryan BATCHELOR (Southern Metropolitan) (12:55): (2548) My constituency question is to the Minister for Children on how the children of the Southern Metropolitan Region are benefiting from Labor’s support for toy libraries. Last Friday I visited the Bayside Toy Library to give them the fantastic news they are receiving a $6000 grant to buy new toys, equipment and resources to support their operations. The toy library recently celebrated its 40th birthday – so it is pretty young – and provides families with access to high-quality educational toys to support a child’s development. The building they are in has just recently been renovated by the City of Bayside, and they have reopened to the public. Chatting to the staff, this grant comes at the perfect time, because being back in new facilities they have gone through all their old toys and have found some that are very well loved and probably need to be replaced. The $6000 grant from the Labor government is going to help that toy library, local parents and local kids to get access to some great new toys.
