Aiv PUGLIELLI (North-Eastern Metropolitan) (14:11): (2494) My question today is to the Minister for Environment. In Whittlesea in my electorate there have been plans for the grassy eucalypt woodland reserve for many, many years. The grassy eucalypt woodlands are home to majestic red river gums, as well as threatened species like the golden sun moth, striped legless lizard and threatened flora. In 2009 the Labor government committed to this 1200-hectare reserve, and yet here we are almost 20 years later with little to no progress. Securing this land for nature not only protects this precious biodiversity into the future but also acts as an important offset to the continued development and clearing of land around this urban growth boundary. Minister, will you commit to funding to see this reserve secured within the next five years?
