Joe McCRACKEN (Western Victoria) (14:06): (2489) My question is for the Minister for Roads and Road Safety. There is no simple way around it: state-managed roads are a total disgrace in Victoria. Motorists are paying through the nose when a tyre is blown or a rim is busted, and nobody from Labor seems to care. I was with the Liberal candidate for Eureka Emma Muir last week, when we inspected the Western Highway and the Midland Highway. Roads were littered with ‘Slow down’ signs, but there was no sign of actual works to fix dangerous road conditions. Emma said it is the worst she has ever seen it, and I agree with her. So my question to the minister is: will you do anything to fix state-managed roads, particularly in Eureka, or will you continue to ignore them, because we have had years and years of Labor neglect?
