Michael GALEA (South-Eastern Metropolitan) (09:54): Over the winter parliamentary recess I also had the great privilege of joining T’Pūaka mā Matariki, the annual Māori New Year celebration hosted by Te Hononga o Ngā Iwi. It was wonderful and really special to be able to join the iwi for this celebration in Hallam with members of the community from all over Melbourne, but particularly from the south-east and the west, and to observe and be a part of the celebrations which were deeply spiritual and meaningful to the whole community. Happy Māori New Year. Mauri ora.
