Evan MULHOLLAND (Northern Metropolitan) (14:03): (2486) My constituency question is to the latest Minister for Education, and it concerns the lack of adequate outdoor shade area at Lalor Primary School in my electorate. Prior to the redevelopment of Lalor Primary School, which I understand finished in 2024, the school had several outdoor shade sails and mature trees, providing shade and protecting students from UV exposure during recess and lunch. Those trees and shade structures were demolished as part of the rebuild project and were not actually replaced. This has left kids at Lalor Primary School without anywhere to sit and play with protection from the sun. The government has not funded this and, frankly, has given the school and community a run-around in terms of applying for new funding for the coverage they previously had. Will the minister commit to finishing the job properly at Lalor Primary School and reinstalling the sun coverage this school community needs and deserves?
