 Sonja TERPSTRA (North-Eastern Metropolitan) (21:56): (2715) My adjournment matter this evening is for the Minister for Community Sport in the other place. Last Tuesday I had the opportunity to visit the Hughes Park pavilion in Croydon North, which was recently upgraded thanks to $1.3 million in funding from the Carroll Labor state government and Maroondah City Council. As part of these upgrades the Hughes Park pavilion has received more accessible change rooms for women and girls, along with upgraded umpire facilities and a brand new first aid room. For clubs like Croydon North Football Club and Croydon North Cricket Club, these upgrades are important to the wellbeing of their members not just now but in years to come. It is, however, essential that we continue to fund these clubs so that clubs like Croydon North and their communities can benefit from these modern facilities. The action I seek from the minister is to provide me with further insights into any upcoming opportunities that sporting clubs in the North-Eastern Metropolitan Region may be able to access to upgrade existing facilities.
