 Gayle TIERNEY (Western Victoria) (14:18): Lorne is a spectacular town on the Great Ocean Road, and if you know Lorne, you will know Point Grey is pretty special as well. Last week I joined representatives from the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority, Surf Coast Shire Council and Regional Development Victoria to see how the $12.95 million redevelopment of Point Grey is taking shape. The redevelopment will provide new and improved facilities, including a new Lorne Aquatic and Angling Club building, a new co-op that includes hospitality, new accessible public toilets, improved parking, public open space, walking paths and new facilities for visitors and fishing. Importantly, it will honour the cultural, fishing and timber history that has made Lorne what it is today. I take this opportunity to thank the Lorne Historical Society for their input. Point Grey is being delivered by GORCAPA and funded through the Geelong City Deal. The Geelong City Deal is unlocking the potential of the Great Ocean Road visitor economy. It is bringing together greater economic opportunity to communities right along the Great Ocean Road, including Lorne. This is the vision of the state Labor government, making the benefits of the great Geelong City Deal flow through to all communities along the Great Ocean Road. It is a project that locals can be very, very proud of and visitors can enjoy for generations to come.
